Our successes

After acting for many clients over a long period of time we inevitably have considerable experience to draw upon. Our successes become a normal and unremarkable part of our job. However our clients do genuinely benefit and it makes sense for us to emphasise these successes.

Giving regular and timely tax advice saves our clients money each day. Such matters as employment issues, defining subcontract labour, planning the incorporation of a business, the use of different capital gains tax reliefs and VAT planning can all save considerable amounts of money and give peace of mind to our clients.

We have successfully defended our clients during tax investigations, often leading to nil settlements. We believe that our success is largely as a result of taking time to know our clients' business, ensuring that clients understand questions raised by the tax authorities and ensuring that replies are sent promptly and clearly. When dealing with the Inland Revenue our approach is to be firm but fair.

We have represented clients as expert witnesses in a court of law. We have also represented our clients before the General Commissioners.

By giving commercial and business advice on such matters as employment, improving accounting records, the use of costing records and how to promote your business we have made a real difference to our clients.

Informing clients about tax credits and helping them complete the forms have resulted in sizeable credits being received.

We often assist businesses in obtaining funding. The preparation of cash flow forecasts can prove invaluable when considering the viability of a proposed business and the evaluation of different changes in the plan. We can help you present the case to your bank manager. Re-thinking the structure of a proposal can affect the bank's attitude to it substantially.

It gives us a great pleasure to recall the many successful businesses we have acted for and the important part we have played in helping them along the road to success.
